Balder's sword cut cleanly through the jackals neck, separating it's head from its body. "It would be a shame to let you guys wast." He set about the grim task of skinning and butchering the creatures. When he was done he rolled up the furs and wrapped the meat to cook later, "At least this way someone else can eat." He took what was left of the carcasses a ways away from the road so scavengers would not attack travelers as they tried to feed. That task done Balder set himself back on his path to see the King.

The rest of your journey is uneventful and you approach the town of Sanctum sometime after midday. During your last mile towards the town, a strong breeze from the north passes you and you catch the smell of strong food and metal. Your stomach rumbles from the scent. Looking towards the town you notice a rather large tower made of stone about six stories high and a keep farther in around three stories high. You notice two watchmen standing by with metal armor and brandishing spear and shield. As you come closer they both nod to you and go about scanning the wild and the road you came from.
(You receive 20 XP from the jackals)
