After having failed to open the hatch, I make my way to the opening where everyone seems to be huddling. I take a look outside and I view the scene. I whisper to my newly found companions.
"Well, he seems drunk. With the rain coming down so hard and his awful singing, you think we could get by him? If not could we get his attention and lure him in here and then ambush him? We could all get close then and grapple him", I nod towards the one who let me free, "then you could shackle him with those manacles my good man"
I look at them smiling.
"Well I've put in my two coppers" I can't help but keep looking at the Tiefling and admiring what I thought was only a myth!

Growling softly, my tail lashing in anger, I mutter a curse beneath my breath, "No one who has treated me such has ever survived before, I fail to see why we should start now. Either he will bend to our will and surrender, or he will die. There will be no other way."
Looking sidelong at his newfound "companions", Iados awaited their replies.

"I agree with the human-well, that human (I point at Levius), our chances are higher of evading than fighting," I say because even though I couldn't see Hafkris I could certainly hear his cat-wailing. Maybe I could sneak by, draw the loud oafs attention away...

Iados glared openly at the seemingly miniature wench who had come up beside himself and the human coward, "He must be beaten into submission or killed! I will not sneak past him as if ashamed to meet his eye! You would do well to remember those who have wronged you, wench, lest you end up with a dagger in yer back!"

"I have not forgotten those who wronged me," I reply, "but its important for us to be alive to seek revenge." She looks back over the horizon, her lips pulled thin in thought. "But if you so desire, I'm sure we could use you as the distraction, while the rest of us slip away," she mused.

Iados looked from the halfling to the humans in turn, and realized he must change his tactics slightly to accomodate these cowardly races, "Let me put it another way. Right now he is alone and drunk, and we still do not know how many other surviving slavers there are. Would you rather slink away from him and allow him to rally his crew or take down a dangerous leader now, while he is vulnerable? I'm sure we could fashion a crude sling out of cloth scraps, if you'd prefer to fight from a distance. There are plenty of pebbles to use for ammunition for such a weapon. Or we could try to force that hatch, and see if there are weapons scattered about the deck before we ambush this waste of space." Controlling his temper but betrayed by his still lashing tail, Iados turned his horned visage from one companion to the next, waiting for replies.

My smile fades away. Amazing. His anger I expected, but not this. Where all Tieflings like this? I can't help but stare at him for a long while before I avert my eyes to the others and bring back my smile.
"He has a point. We have the opportunity to eliminate a threat. We could even detain him as I said before and interrogate him. Find out where we were going and possibly any other good information we think we can get from him. Eliminating him now rather than dealing with him later is the best option right now and who knows if we'll have another opportunity like this."
I nod to the Tiefling.
"I'll stand and fight with you against Hafkris."

I cough slightly from behind them, waiting for their eyes. "I agree we should ambush him, but kill him? That seems rash, oh don't worry I hate him well enough and when he leaves this world, I shall not mourn his passing, but you all forget yourselves. Do any of you know where we are? I don't, but perhaps he does. He after all was a sea faring captain who had sailed in this region for quite some time. Use him, get the information out of him. We can put him up here once we knock him out. If it makes you feel better Master Tiefling you can leave him with his legs manacled to his ship of cruelty, but after we get what we need to survive. Leave his fates to the Gods."

"Whatever you are going to do I believe you may want to do it quickly" says a voice. Turning you all see a girl who cannot be more than 13 years old. You recognize her as the one who was chained next to the halfling. "I'm freezing!"
"Damn you captain!" You hear Hafkris scream." Playing at the magic user, studying the book when you should've been paying attention to the weather! Now look at you, dead washed overboard! I swear when I find that damnable book in your cabin I will burn it!" Staggering and stumbling, swaying drunkly Hafkris turns and starts toward the wrecked ship.

Hearing the latest rant from Halfkris, Iodas' horns fairly quivered with anticipation, "A book?" he muttered, "A book of untold power the likes of which could turn my fortunes around? Perhaps these lower beings are correct and interrogation is the way to go in this case.....inasmuch as it keeps them occupied while I search for the loot!"
Turning to his fellow prisoners he gruffly states, "I agree. Capture and interrogate. But it would seem we are nearly out of time. Here he comes!"

I look back towards Hafkris and then to the Tiefling, whom after talking that big game, lurks into the shadows. I give the Tiefling a cold stare and look back towards Hafkris. I prepare myself for what lies ahead with my club in hand.

As Hafkris stumbles back from the beach he says “ ’S cold! Time to see if any slaves made it. Need to find warmth, and they could come in handy. Damn its cold!” He drunkly shambles your way.

I take a deep breath and turn to my comrades.
"I'll distract him and get him deeper inside while the rest of you take him by surprise when he comes in. This way his attention will be focused on me while the rest of you take the advantage."
I face Hafkris again. The adrenaline builds.

With a gruff confirmation sound to his plan, I hurry back into the hold and climb the slave bunks, hiding in the darkness they provided, my piece of wood ready to crush limbs. I thought about trying to sharpen it, but I couldn't waste time on that if Hafkris was on his way back. I kept an eye on the demon-horned thing though; something about him unsettled me and I wasn't sure what it was yet. Briefly, the thought of "the book" the dumb oaf was screaming about and what it could have been about crossed my mind. It must have been important if the Captain was paying it more mind than sailing, and if it was important, it most likely meant it could catch a pretty penny.

As I stand in the hole I prepare to swing the manacles, looking at the slinking tiefling watching him skulk into darkness, curious if he plans to ambush the pirate, or whether he was truly cowardly. Deciding I was to beleaguered with worry about Hafkris, I slip past him standing beside by the youthful looking half-elf, nodding my head holding my scavenged weapon. Wondering silently if the Gods would answer a prayer after all that has happened, and yet reluctantly praying anyway. I look for the short curly haired girl and find her strangely missing. I wave the small teenager girl back into the hold, feeling the rain on my long white beard and prepare to attack.
